This week is our second part of understanding Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which is a form of psychotherapy that helps people heal from traumatic events and disturbing life experiences. EMDR allows you to re-process your memories by reliving trauma in small doses and releasing negative emotions using rapid, rhythmic eye movements.
In this follow-up episode of EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) with Timothy Meyer, LCSW (Psychotherapist and Assistant Director at the Lukin Center), Timothy Meyer demonstrates the process of this evidence-based modality on fellow Lukin Center clinician, Dr. Elissa Gross.
In last week's article, "EMDR Therapy: Understanding Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing" Timothy Meyer, LCSW explained what EMDR is and the benefits of this modality. In that episode, Dr. Konstantin Lukin sat down with Timothy Meyer to help break down EDMR and how this modality of therapy is used to identify and overcome past traumatic experiences.
