That's because they're on a quest to figure everything out for themselves. You can't possibly understand what they're going through... so they say.
And I say, let them. This is their time for exploration, self-discovery, mistakes and problem-solving.
We all learn best by doing and experiencing. Your home is the training ground and the safe landing spot. Sit down, shut up, and smile (the Three S's). Let them have their wins and losses.
This could be the most important contribution you make to their future success and satisfaction with life.
