New Jersey’s Newest Breast Health Center: Here to Support You and Your Family, Bergen County Moms

Breast cancer doesn't just affect a woman — it touches her entire family. Whether it’s a mom worried about missing milestones with her children or a grandmother eager to stay strong for her grandkids, the journey can be filled with fear and uncertainty. For mothers in particular, the weight of balancing a diagnosis with the demands of family life can feel overwhelming. That’s why the launch of The Breast Center of New Jersey (BCNJ) brings not just medical expertise but hope and support when it’s needed most. BCNJ’s team of compassionate professionals is here to guide you through every decision, every step, and every challenge, ensuring that you’re not alone in your healthcare journey.

With nearly 40 doctors specializing in breast health, plastic, and reconstructive surgery across more than 30 offices, BCNJ is the largest network of breast health professionals in New Jersey. Committed to providing care for women facing breast cancer and other breast-related conditions, BCNJ serves as a trusted partner for patients and their families. BCNJ’s mission is to offer not only world-class medical treatment but also peace of mind — helping mothers and women of all ages feel empowered in their healthcare decisions.

BCNJ brings together top doctors from The Premier Surgical Network, The Institute for Advanced Reconstruction, and The Plastic Surgery Center. The center is especially focused on caring for women at high risk of breast cancer, including those with a family history or prior abnormal biopsies. BCNJ uses the most advanced diagnostic tools, like 3D breast MRIs, to detect even the smallest abnormalities, ensuring you get answers as quickly and accurately as possible.

Dr. Anjeanette T. Brown, MD, FACS, a fellowship-trained breast surgeon, shares: “At BCNJ, we are dedicated to offering compassionate, coordinated care to all of our patients. We understand how devastating a breast cancer diagnosis can be — not just for the patient but for her entire family. We want to make this journey as smooth as possible for everyone involved.”

For many moms, managing their own health can feel secondary to caring for their loved ones, but Dr. Brown encourages women to take time for themselves when it comes to making health decisions. “Our goal is to help patients focus on healing rather than worrying about coordinating appointments, records, or treatments between different doctors,” she shares. “We’re here to take that burden off your shoulders.”

After a diagnosis, BCNJ works with each patient through an individualized treatment plan that fits her unique needs. From genetic testing to surgical options, like lumpectomies and nipple-sparing mastectomies, to breast reconstruction, BCNJ ensures that every woman feels confident and is educated in all her choices. They also provide care for conditions that can develop after treatment, such as post-mastectomy pain, chemo-induced neuropathy, and lymphedema.

In New Jersey, breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in women and the second leading cause of cancer death. In 2023 alone, more than 8,500 women in the state received the life-changing news of a breast cancer diagnosis. BCNJ aims to be a trusted partner during this difficult time, offering a seamless network of care to help mothers and families navigate this overwhelming chapter.

“BCNJ gives women access to the most advanced care from expert doctors who truly understand the emotional and physical challenges of breast cancer,” says Dr. Brown. “We want to empower our patients to feel confident in their healthcare decisions, so they can focus on what matters most — their families and their health.”
