Mark your calendars for an unforgettable day of sports and community impact on Saturday, January 18th, as Newtown High School (NHS) hosts the annual "Healing Through Sports" Games. The event will feature exciting matchups between Newtown HS and Ridgewood HS JV and Varsity Girls Basketball teams:
🏀 JV Game: 11:30 AM
🏀 Varsity Game: 1:00 PM
Now in its 12th year, the event, founded by Jeremy O'Connell and Danny Brown, continues to unite communities through the power of sports while supporting those in need.
This year, the community is rallying behind Ridgewood High School senior and basketball team captain Johnny Jackson and his family. Donations from NHS, RHS, and Downtown Sports will go to the Steven M. Perez Foundation, which provides vital support to families facing cancer diagnoses, with a particular focus on childhood cancer research.
The need for funding for childhood cancer research is critical, and this event offers a meaningful way to contribute.
The community is invited to join in honoring Johnny Jackson and supporting this important cause, demonstrating their strength, compassion, and generosity.
Donations can be made in honor of Johnny Jackson through the Steven M. Perez Foundation.
